The SYF 2025 set pieces revisit the original commissioned work Two Overtures for Wind Band by Singaporean composer Dr. Kelly Tang, first composed for SYF 2009.
This errata provides detailed corrections, amendments, and performance notes for both overtures. These updates are designed to enhance the score’s precision and support performers in delivering a rendition that faithfully aligns with the composer’s original vision.
A thorough review of the score during the preparation process uncovered several discrepancies and areas requiring clarification to ensure accurate interpretation and performance.
Below is the official errata issued by the composer on 2nd February 2009.

Errata for Overture No.1
Page 3
- Bar 13 (Alto Sax 1): The slur on the 2 semiquavers should be pulled over to the 1st quaver of the last beat.
- Bar 15 (Alto Sax 2): The slur on the 2 semiquavers should be pulled over to the 1st quaver of the second beat.

- Bar 28 (Alto Sax 1): The slur on the 2 quavers of the 2nd beat should start from the 1st beat of the bar, lasting for 3 notes.
- Bar 30 (Oboe): The slur on the 2nd quavers of the 3rd beat should be lengthened to the last quaver of the bar.
- Bar 30 (Clarinet 1): The slur on the 2nd quavers of the 3rd beat should be lengthened to the last quaver of the bar.

- Bar 52 (Full Score): Suggested tempo of 96 should be removed.
- Bar 54 (Bass Clarinet, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Euphonium): The phrase mark starting from the pick-up note into bar 54 should start from the 1st beat to the 3rd beat.
