Join the Maha Bodhi School Alumni Band for an afternoon of musical delights!

Maha Bodhi School Alumni Band (MBSAB) had humble beginnings in 2005 when Mr Quek Boon Hui, Maha Bodhi Symphonic Band (MBSSB)’s resident conductor, brought alumni members back to record a CD that featured many pieces that the band has played before. After the successful production, the alumni remained largely dormant until 2009, when alumni members were called back once again to perform at their inaugural biennial concert series titled REMINISCENCE I at the Singapore Conference Hall in June 2010.

Since then, MBSAB has taken on a wide range of projects such as Esplanade’s Beautiful Sunday concert in 2017 and 2019They also stage their own concert series titled Throwback biennially at the school hall, having more than 500 audience members for each performance.

Besides providing a meaningful avenue and platform for former MBSSB members to further their passion in music, MBSAB resolves to be a pillar of support for the MBSSB. Yearly camps and concerts have been organised by alumni for the main band members to provide a platform for the young and passionate musicians to showcase their talents.

Under the baton of resident conductor, Mr Joseph Chong and assistant conductor Mr Chia Jun Cheng, they hope to continue igniting the passion of all members and bring this group to greater heights.
