Esplanade Concert Hall, 7.30pm

$15, Available here

For many of us, Christmas is the time of the year when families and friends gather to celebrate the festive season. This Christmas, Novo Winds would like to cordially invite you to join us at the Esplanade Concert Hall as we present our third installment of our concert series in concert. Under the baton of Music Director Joseph Teo, tonight’s program is carefully curated for audiences of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy.

Hazo’s Ride is a high-velocity piece which was inspired by a landscape-blurring car ride down a country road in Pennsylvania. When Hazo composed the piece, he had in mind to start and end in the same key to symbolize going from one “home” to another and zooming through harmonic and metric changes in between to take listeners and musicians for a “ride” before building to a furious climax.

Mackey’s Aurora Awakes is a piece about the heralding of the coming light, and we are pleased to present our rendition of his masterpiece accompanied by Singaporean sand artist, Lawrence Koh.

After the successful Singapore premiere of “Lost Moon”, the second episode from Daisuke’s Man on the Moon series, we are thrilled to present “My Fellow Americans” which is the last episode from the same series. Being another Singapore premiere, the piece will be accompanied by a live narration to bring a deeper musical experience of the piece, together with the illustrations. With both visuals and narrations, this will definitely breathe new life to the piece and take the audience on an immersive sensory adventure.

The Greatest Showman is a 2017 American musical drama film directed by Michael Gracey in his directorial debut featuring nine original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The film is based on the story and life of P.T. Barnum, a famous showman and entertainer, and his creation of the Barnum & Bailey Circus and the lives of its star attractions. The world premiere of this arrangement by our very own flautist, Grayson Mak, will allow you to enjoy the live musical journey as we share the stage with Eric Larrea, Izzathy Halil, Kimberly Sim and Pranad Eshaan Meduri on the vocals.

Follow us into a cinematic escapade as we present to you music and visuals from across the globe!
