About Novo Winds
Formed in 2010, Novo Winds is a not-for-profit community band under the auspices of Toa Payoh South Community Club, dedicated to promoting musical development in its members.

“Novo” means “anew, afresh and from the beginning” in Latin and serves as the band’s guiding principle to incorporate new performance concepts and musical directions in reaching out to a wider audience.

Under the musical direction of conductor Joseph Teo, Novo Winds presented their new concert series in Concert in 2018 and performed to a full house at their second instalment in 2019. Over the years, Novo Winds has also performed for numerous programs presented by Esplanade, such as Beautiful Sunday and Cool Classics. In addition, they have also participated in several performances including an overseas charity concert jointly presented with Sky Winds of Malaysia in 2016. The band also started to mentor young musicians from Bendemeer Secondary School, Ngee Ann Secondary School, and St. Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School from 2019.

About Khim Ng

Known as a powerhouse singer, Khim started performing at a young age of 13 when she participated in Singapore reality television singing competition Campus Superstar in 2006. Despite being the youngest contestant, her husky and powerful voice left a great impression on the judges. In 2017, Khim joined China’s reality television talent show Sing! China, where her powerful vocal caught the attention of coaches–Eason Chan and Na Ying. She eventually chose the former as her coach.
