Celebrate early Christmas with the TEH Trio at the Esplanade, along with piano accompanist Aya Sakou and tubist Tan Yao Cong.
Presenting the most unexpected combination of brass instruments — trombone, euphonium and horn or TEH for short, the trio strives to be a premier group that represents Singapore’s brass musicians internationally.
“We were formed unofficially in 2015 over a cup of tea when the three of us were school mates at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). COVID-19 brought us back together in early 2020 and we felt that it was the perfect time to launch the group officially,” said horn player Alexander Oon.
“We aim to entertain via our online video productions, while conceptualizing live performances that break the barrier between musicians and audiences.”
Staying true to Singaporean roots, TEH translates into Tea, reflecting the affinity for tea breaks in a day’s work. Sometimes, TEH is served with additional ingredients, so the trio collaborates with fellow tea lovers for that extra touch of fragrance. As the first brass trio of its kind, TEH brings to you a wide variety of music which includes classical, contemporary and pop with a touch of laughter.

“It’s been a long time since most people have attended a live performance. We’re very thankful for Esplanade for giving us this opportunity and we’ve prepared quite a handful of familiar tunes, with a lot of twist! Come join us for a not so normal classical performance and end off the year with lots of laughter!” said euphonium player Kang Chun Meng.
“Apart from this concert, we also have some very exciting stuff planned for 2021,” trombonist Jasper Tan mentioned.
