Committed to bringing audiences a unique concert experience, ADDO Chamber Orchestra will be presenting Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem Op.45 in its original two piano and timpani version, or commonly known as the London Version.

“Together with theatre practitioner Sharon Frese acting as Clara Schumann, we will be exploring the relationship Brahms have with the Schumann through the letters he wrote to Clara,” said resident conductor Clarence Tan.

“We will also be forming a chamber choir, and collaborating with Tai Zi Feng to design lightings to set the hall and mood for the production. This will enhance the concert-going experience for our audience in the historical Victoria Concert Hall.”

Aside from this collaboration, it is not the first time that ADDO has partnered other art groups for its projects. By working with like-minded partners, ADDO helps to bring audiences a different perspective to what Art is and what could potentially affect them.

“As a chamber orchestra, we program music that can make our textures and colours transparent. By seeking collaborations, it also brings the art community and audience together.”

Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem is a grand psychological poem, using 16 different passages from the Lutheran Bible to make emotional points of death and humanity, set to incredible music.

Join ADDO this Friday as they bring to you Brahms’s original soprano, baritone, chorus, two piano and timpani version of his magnum opus.
